In collaboration with the Sr. Vice President /General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel provides a wide range of legal services for Yale New Haven Health Services Corporation and its network affiliates.

Responsibilities

  1. Assists Sr. Vice President/General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel with corporate matters on behalf of the Health Services Corporation ('HSC') and affiliated entities.
  2. With the oversight of the Sr. Vice President /General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, drafts, reviews and negotiates contracts on behalf of HSC and affiliated entities.
  3. With the oversight of the Sr. Vice President /General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, drafts, reviews and negotiates real estate leases and real property purchase and sale agreements on behalf of HSC and affiliated entities.
  4. Assists Sr. Vice President/General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel with regulatory matters.
  5. With the oversight of the Sr. Vice President /General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, provides oral and written legal advice to HSC and affiliated entities.
  6. Informs the Sr. Vice President/General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel of ongoing activity and critical matters affecting HSC and affiliated entities .
  7. Interacts with other Legal and Risk Services personnel to ensure that legal services are provided to HSC and affiliated entities in a timely, practical and cost effective manner consistent with the mission and values of the organization
  8. Demonstrates a spirit of teamwork, offering positive and constructive ideas, encouragement and support to other members of the Legal and Risk Services Department.
  9. Performs other duties as requested by the Sr. Vice President /General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Current admission to the Connecticut Bar (as Authorized House Counsel or otherwise) or ability to waive in or achieve bar membership in a timely fashion.

EXPERIENCE

Three to five years? experience in general health care practice with some portion of that time in a healthcare setting.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to independently conduct legal research and provide legal advice. Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment.
