Overall Responsibility:

Research and document applicable international laws and regulations regarding enrollment in direct-to-patient genomic research, on behalf of Broad research teams pursuing online recruitment strategies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research international human subjects research regulations as they apply to online research recruitment from the United States (with particular attention to return of research result; pediatric enrollment; remotely-performed competency assessments; consent requirements; transfer of biospecimens and medical information; use of electronic signatures)

  • Research data protection laws in countries other than the United States as they apply to Broad research efforts

  • Research export control laws in countries other than the United States as they apply to Broad research efforts

  • Under the direction of Broad legal and regulatory teams, communicate with international regulatory authorities.

  • Create guide to applicable research laws and regulations for assigned countries.

  • Consult with Broad research teams regarding international laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Law student

  • Experience in genomic research laws and regulations, preferred

  • Experience in international laws and regulations, preferred

Working Conditions:

Part-time internship of 15 hours per week for a duration of 6-9 months

Pay commensurate with experience.
