General Description:

Based within the Nuffield Department of Population Health, The Ethox Centre is an internationally recognised multidisciplinary bioethics research centre and is a vibrant and intellectually exciting place to work. We are seeking a Research Fellow to join a new collaboration between researchers in the UK, Kenya, South Africa and Thailand which aims to fill the critical gaps in ethics guidance for responsible research with women, children and families in low-income countries.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic international team of researchers in bioethics, anthropology, tropical medicine, health systems research, and public health, working on a timely and interesting set of ethical challenges in global maternal-child health. You will be involved in all design, planning, and team meeting discussions and play an important role in carrying out a programme of research on the broader theme of ethics and health improvement for women and children in low-income countries across our Global Health Bioethics Network.

You will hold a relevant post graduate degree (PhD or MSc and equivalent experience) as well as experience in qualitative research and working with teams to facilitate efficient and effective field research. You will also have excellent time management, organisational and interpersonal skills and proficiency with qualitative analysis software (NVivo, Atlas.ti etc.). The ability to travel internationally is also important for this role.

The post is full-time (part time considered) and fixed-term for 3 years.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Friday 5 August 2016.
