The Fellowship (Req ID: 35164BR) will serve as a legal advocate for children within Boston Children’s Hospital and as the internal point of contact for the medical legal partnership. The Fellow would reside within the General Counsel’s office of Boston Children's Hospital under the supervision of the attorney who is the BCH legal point of contact for legal matters and would be the point of contact for clinicians to refer patients (children and their families) who cannot afford a lawyer but are experiencing problems arising out of access to housing, income supports, educational resources, as well as immigration and family law matters.
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Juris Doctorate, with demonstrable affinity and/or set of experiences in the area of child advocacy, and having sat or passed the Bar Exam, preferably in the State of Massachusetts.
