Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is primarily responsible for managing the annual conflict of interest disclosure and management process for the Faculty of Medicine at HMS and its affiliated hospitals, as well as the research-based review process for those investigators submitting grants through HMS. Additionally responsible for the QI/QA program.  Responsible for developing and managing management plans and strategies, as well as the development and review of petitions for exceptions.  Additionally, responsible for the education and training program related to conflicts of interest, and supporting quality assurance/quality improvement program for the conflict of interest disclosure and management processes.  Includes responding to inquiries from faculty and staff across HMS and its affiliated hospitals, and following up with investigators regarding potential lapses of approval or other noncompliance issues.  
Responsible for staff support for the Standing Committee on Conflict of Interest, and the Financial Interest Review Committee, including setting agendas, staffing committee meetings, and implementation of conflict resolution and management plans.  This individual will also lead the review of faculty consulting agreements.  
This individual will manage 1-2 direct reports.  
Also responsible for assisting in the development of a process to manage the faculty grievance policy, as well as staffing the Standing Committee on Rights and Responsibilities and case management for grievances.  Additionally, this individual will aid in staffing the review of the process by which we manage the appeals of medical and masters’ student disciplinary action.
Finally, this person will support the electronic reporting system and its interface with other systems at Harvard as well as leading the affiliate group for the system.
