OVERVIEW

Hosted at the Centre for Health Law, Policy and Ethics, the Chairholder will join a vibrant and growing community of scholars who are working on cutting-edge issues in health law, policy and ethics and will have the opportunity to interact with faculty members and graduate students from a number of different faculties. The location in Ottawa will enable the Chairholder to address issues of national and international significance and to network with leading policy-makers and jurists. The Chairholder will benefit from exchanges with a broad range of Centre members whose scholarly activities focus on, amongst others, vulnerable populations; the impact, assessment and regulation of new biomedical technologies; innovative approaches to health governance; and issues emerging as a result of the aging population.

Start date: September 2018 or January 2019

Duration: 4 months

Eligibility: Outstanding scholar with a Ph.D. or equivalent, U.S. citizenship, not having lived outside the U.S. for five or more consecutive years in the past six years.

Remuneration: $25,000 (USD) + benefits

SPECIALIZATIONS

Health-related issues at the intersection of law, policy and ethics: Technology and Innovation, Unique Populations, Aging, Domestic and Global Health Governance.

The University of Ottawa is a bilingual institution. Some resource material may be in French. French is not required but would be an asset.
