Position Start Date: As negotiated with the successful applicant.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or other terminal degree (J.D., M.D.) with experience in bioethics. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with normative bioethics analyses, survey methodologies, policy research (particularly issues in new technologies and medical innovations) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities: This is a full-time position, with initial appointment for one year. With successful performance the position is renewable.

The incumbent will work under the guidance of Richard Sharp, Ph.D., in the Mayo Clinic Biomedical Ethics Program. The incumbent will oversee research projects and will be a full participant in data collection, analysis and publication. Areas of study include ethical and social issues in translational research and integration of new technologies into patient care, including topics such as stem-cell based therapeutics, novel forms of transplantation and regenerative medicine, ethical issues in genomic medicine, and DNA biobanking.

Compensation will be based on Mayo Clinic guidelines and set by number of years of experience post degree.
