Gregory Curfman, MD, is deputy editor, JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association). He previously served as executive editor of NEJM (New England Journal of Medicine). Dr. Curfman attended Princeton University (A.B.) and Harvard Medical School (M.D.). He was trained as a cardiologist and internist and is a faculty member at Harvard Medical School, a member of the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology at Mass General Brigham, and a member of the adjunct faculty at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Curfman’s scholarship focuses on the intersection of health law and constitutional law. He is currently researching the potential impact of the loss of affirmative action in university admissions on the composition of the physician workforce in the U.S.
