Re-Engineering Human Biology
What should be the ethical and legal limits?
What should be the ethical and legal limits? In its first major conference, the Center gathered leading figures in law, bioethics, science, and philosophy to explore the legal and ethical implications of new biotechnology. The event assembled more than fifty academics, among whom were many of the world’s leading scientists and legal and ethical scholars. Participants included Ronald Dworkin, Einer Elhauge, Frances Kamm, Leon Kass, Douglas Melton, Steven Pinker, Richard Posner, Michael Sandel, Seana Shiffrin, and Cass Sunstein.
Sponsored by the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics at Harvard Law School, the Harvard University Program in Ethics and Health, and the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, with support from the Oswald DeN. Cammann Fund at Harvard University.
