This panel explored the strengths and weaknesses of various policies that may be employed to alleviate ongoing racial health disparities. Such policies include those that enhance the enforcement or reach of existing civil rights laws and those that call for more direct and targeted quality-improvement initiatives. In addition, the panel discussed those aspects of the Affordable Care Act that may lead to reduced disparities in care.

Panelists: David Barton Smith, Anup Malani, Gregg Bloche, Amitabh Chandra, Michael Frakes
