Mariana Brocca is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Law at the University of Buenos Aires under a National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) grant. She holds an L.L.M. in International Human Rights Law (University of Notre Dame – Fulbright scholarship), which she obtained with summa cum laude honors, the Faculty Award for Excellence, and a place on the Dean’s Honor Roll. She also holds a Master in Feminist Legal Studies (Autonomous University of Barcelona), as well as a J.D. equivalent and L.L.B. equivalent (National University of Central Buenos Aires Province, UNICEN). She is an adjunct professor at the Law School of the UNICEN, where she co-chairs the Observatory on Care Rights. She is also a researcher with the Interdisciplinary Work Group “Social Rights and Public Policy” (UBA), the Center for Human Rights Studies (UNICEN), and is an external affiliate of the Human Rights Reparations Design and Compliance Lab (Kellogg Institute for International Studies, University of Notre Dame). Mariana is part of the Steering Committee of the Carework Network and a member of the “Care and Gender” Work Group of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). She has consulted for CEJIL, PAHO, and UNDP, and has received academic scholarships from the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL), the International Society of Public Law (ICON.S), +ERASMUS, among others. Her doctoral research focuses on care policies at the subnational level from a gender and human rights approach.
