2010-2011

Abby Lauer is a second-year student at Harvard Law School. She earned a BS summa cum laude from the College of William and Mary where she majored in biology and was a Monroe Scholar and a Division I all-American soccer player. Abby’s research interests focus on the relationship between science and the law. Her research agenda includes studying the costs and benefits of systems that protect intellectual property (patent, trademark, and copyright) as well as potential avenues for reforming these systems. Specifically, she is interested in looking at how the patent system affects health care in the United States and what can be done to ensure that patent protection improves rather than interferes with patient care.
