Zhengmin Li is a PhD fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies in Bioscience Innovation Law, University of Copenhagen. She also teaches international law at the faculty of law, University of Copenhagen. She is currently a visiting scholar at the Petrie-Flom Center at Harvard Law School. She holds a master’s degree in European business law from Lund University, Sweden, and she has worked as a regulatory researcher focusing on cross-border trade at Global Product Compliance Group, Sweden.
Her current research focuses on the governance of artificial intelligence in the medical context, with particular interest in the regulation of algorithmic decision-making. Her PhD thesis exams the right to explanation for medical AI decisions under the EU GDPR and AI Act. With this project, she explores the normative aims and functional roles of transparency and explanation in EU AI regulation, seeking to clarify their institutional significance and limitations.
She also serves as a regulatory consultant for Global Product Compliance Group, and an academic mentor at the Department for Special Education Support in Demark.
